LOOKING FOR A RELIABLE FREELANCE
FRENCH TO ENGLISH TRANSLATOR?

Let me take care of it. With over 10 years in translation, I've seen it all.

I'm a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, with clients in France, Belgium
and the UK. I'm happy to take a look at your project and let you know whether or not
I can help, or refer you to someone who can.

A good reason not to use agencies! A personalised service is preferable, with people rather than organisations; it makes things easier. And well done for your responsiveness!

What's the offer?

From the commercial to the creative, I can recreate your French text in fluent English, with no trace of translation.

Since 2002 I've translated millions of words in contracts, marketing materials, creative copy, bids, proposals, InDesign and Illustrator files, CAD drawing labels... the list goes on. I've also translated over 100 French comic books over the years, including Lucky Luke, Thorgal, IR$ and even written a book on the translation industry that got favourable reviews and was featured in The Linguist magazine. I know, that's not too far off Sheds Monthly magazine, but still.

Finally, I can translate and deliver in most file formats without you needing to adjust the layout afterwards, all with open and clear communication along the way. I care about the details, but won't bore you with them if you need to get on.

How does that sound to you?

Spot on, I hope!

So how do we work together?

Fill in the form here and I'll get back to you asap. Or, my number's at the bottom of the page if you'd rather call.

Some other things you might want to know

  • I typically charge by the day. The day estimate is based on your wordcount, with anything up to around 3500 words priced at one day. This keeps pricing simple and ensures your translation gets all the time it needs, even with a quick turnaround.
  • I use professional translation software (definitely not machine translation) and can offer translation memories, glossaries and other assets where required.
  • I'm happy to meet to discuss longer ongoing projects at my office in Derby (in the former Rolls Royce HQ boardrooms!) or at yours if you're in or around the East Midlands.
